A report on WinRumors indicated the Verizon will introduce its HTC 7 Trophy soon, giving Verizon (Public, NYSE:VZ) its first-ever Windows Phone 7 smartphone.A February 28 report at Engadget showed a screen shot for the supposed HTC 7 Trophy of Verizon while PPC Greeks also showed an image of an HTC 7 Trophy of Verizon.
The design of the supposed HTC 7 Trophy is unlike the “NoDo” upgrade for the Windows Phone 7 that allows it to support CDMA, one of the required features of Verizon.
The features of the upcoming HTC 7 Trophy include a screen measuring 3.8 inches, the 1 GHZ Snapdragon microprocessor as well a 5 MP camera.
No set date was announced for the possible release of the new HTC 7 Trophy.
None of the officials from Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) are providing any information or even hints on the possible date for the unveiling of the HTC 7 Trophy from Verizon. The spokesperson also indicated that upcoming HTC 7 Trophy from Verizon may enter the market before the second half of 2011 comes in.
WinRumors also added that the first set of the upcoming HTC 7 Trophy from Verizon will enter the market in the second half of March. The HTC Arrive of Sprint will be delivered by the company by March 20 as its initial CDMA WP7 phone offering. The price of the HTC Arrive of Sprint is $199.
Aside from the upcoming introduction of the HTC 7 Trophy from Verizon, Microsoft has not yet released a new update for the Samsung WP7 smartphones following the glitch in the initial update for the OS used on the smartphones of Samsung.
