HTC’s HD7 / HD3 Windows Phone 7 smartphone gets an FCC tear down

The HTC HD7 hit the FCC way back in October of 2010.  Today, internal and external photos of the device were finally released, giving us a good look at the device’s innards.

As you can see above, the HTC HD7 was originally going to be called the HD3 since it is the successor to HTC’s HD2 Windows Mobile device.  However, HTC changed the device’s name to HD7 to be consistent with Windows Phone 7 branding.

The HD7 features a 4.3” 480 x 800 WVGA display, a 1GHz processor, between 8 and 16GB of microSD card storage, 512MB of ROM, a 5MP camera with support for 720p video recording, Bluetooth, WiFi and support for GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 bands, as well as WCMDA bands 900 and 2100.

HTC’s internal photos of the device give us a good look at its Qualcomm SnapDragon processor, Qualcomm Power Management chip and 16GB SanDisk internal storage.  We also spotted what appears to be Samsung SDRAM and a Broadcom WiFi transceiver.  Check out the full gallery, below:
